I liked the story !
Did you know that although we think of leeches, as being from warmer Climes, they exist in Europe --
I found some in the river Doubs on the border between France and Switzerland, in the Jura, where my Son lives.
When I got a few up on the palm of my hand, there were shrieks of horror --- but they are only about two inches long !

I have just realised that I hope that Lonelymom doesn't read this !!

The largest leech I know of lives on Mount Kinabalu - I think it is about a foot long - but and it is a very big but - it is vegetarian!!!

The largest leech I know is 24 years old, 6'1",weighs about 10 and half stones and is sitting on my sofa.

PRICELESS, MARY !!

Dorking has a brook running through it, right next to Dorking Football Clubs ground. Several yeas ago, it was teeming with leeches. I haven't bothered checking lately !
