That was why I didn't post it at the weekend when we normally send a package every week of comics and forwarded post; unfortunately since then I haven't been anywhere near a post office. With overseas stuff you can't just drop it in a handy postbox - it has to be weighed etc first! Anyway that's my excuse and I am sticking to it!! However, I know that there is an 'interesting' parcel on its way from Kirri - if it isn't stuck in a sorting office somewhere! And I am not being allowed to forget that tomorrow is my husband's birthday, and the following day both of the girls' fathers-in-law (or equivalent) have birthdays, so a busy week for celebrations. No doubt there are things happening on Facebook, to which I refuse to subscribe. So, once again, happy birthday Maria; I shall phone!

Thank you All!
Isn't technology a wonderful thing?... 2 cards, 2 parcels (despite the postal strike, they arrived in a just a few days - on time!), 9 forum messages, 1 email, 15 facebook messages.... my husband forgot, so my daughter was unaware and my mother didn't send a card!!
I must be getting older!
..and I miss fireworks! When I was a child, I think my family must have been fighting over who got the easy option of taking me to see the fireworks "for my birthday" - it took me a long time to realise that everyone went, regardless of their birthdate!
There was a time, when I lived in Leicester - the heart of Diwali country - when Fireworks started at the beginning of October and virtually continued up to Christmas! Our neighbour's dog moved into the cupboard under the stairs for the duration..
Here they are for New Year only and it's next to impossible to buy them at any other time....
Oh well - Thanks again to everyone who remembered.
p.s. think I'll stop counting for a while.... 40 seems a good spot to rest & recouperate while my children catch up!
