Trouble accessing the forum via Plusnet

Post by Jo »

Just wondered if anyone else who uses Plusnet as their ISP has had trouble accessing the forum? We switched just a few weeks ago and it was fine at first but for the past couple of weeks it's been impossible to reach the forum (I'm currently using my 3G dongle). I'm not sure if it's Plusnet, the router they gave us, or the phone line - we used to have broadband on a second line in the house, which we have since had disconnected, so this is actually the first time this particular line has had broadband on it.

Plusnet are being quite helpful - they've had me doing various line tests and sent me another router to test, but nothing seems to help. It's not my PC because none of the PCs in the house can access it via the broadband connection, but can via 3G.

If anyone is techy-minded, I have done a tracert which shows it stopping at the forum's hosting company, and yet it is linked to our broadband somehow. It's very curious.

If anyone else has had trouble with Plusnet, or alternatively if there are any techy wizards out there who can suggest a possible cause (or better still, a solution), please get in touch! I can still read via Proxify.

Many thanks :?

I've had Plusnet (my ISP) investigating this for several weeks and they did a full test the other day as if from my IP address, and with my logon/psw for the forum (password temporarily changed, of course, so they can't continue to access indefinitely). Jack was the engineer doing the testing - he's put several posts in the Test forum but obviously found this thread too.

As to how I am able to access at the moment, I'm on holiday in Scotland and using the hotel's wifi connection - my problems are limited to my own broadband access. It's only affecting one other website but until it's sorted (which is looking increasingly unlikely as Plusnet are now saying it's definitely not their fault) - my posts will be few and far between.
