Thank you all - yes I am having a day off - in fact I have the rare luxury of two consecutive days off in August. Yesterday was our Ruby Wedding - where have all the years gone! Today we are going to Llanidloes to see a quilt exhibition.

How marvellous! Did you manage to see the one at the V & A in the summer? My daughter went down to London for a couple of days just to see it. Visitors were only allowed an hour each, but she said it was well worth it, especially as my 3 yr.old grand-daughter was quite entranced by the patterns and colours. She behaved perfectly for the entire hour!

We have had mixed weather a lovely early evening drive home along the coast from Tywyn north to us. It really is beautiful. Maggie, Congratulations to you and Joe, and Happy Birthday, or even Penblwydd Hapus to him (just Happy Birthday in Welsh!)

I loved the 100th embroidery thing, Katharine; so simple and uncluttered-looking, although I suspect that is deceptive in terms of the actual effort that went into it. Sadly, not having a creative bone in my body, I restrict myself to reproducing other people's cross stitch charts. Actually I haven't done any for ages - I keep meaning to get back to it but getting side-tracked by 'more important' things like grandchildren and computer genealogy (I have just added a new great-nephew to the family tree)! Glad you had a good birthday and anniversary anyway.
