Old Blues Day

As well as being sold through the CHOBA shop, there are numerous CH items on sale in the tuckshop, as well as some lovely little Housey frogs, knitted by a lady from the Bluecoat Pond development . Money received goes towards paying for music lessons for pupils who would otherwise be unable to afford them.
If you`re coming to OB Day, be sure to come to tuckshop and say hello!!

Sorry, Janet. I am not going to be there. I am walking really badly at the moment and can't contemplate negotiating the CH campus. I hope the day goes really well and the the shop sells all its products!

It sounds as if I must be there to buy frogs for my Grand-children and "Greats" --- althought the latest "Darcie" might not appreciate it -- at 1 week old !!

Despite all the machinations at this end I don't think I can make it so I know you will enjoy my absence

.
I'm hoping to make 8th / 9th October but even that is a bit "iffy" (some Aussies could be coming specially for the vendage (vine harvest festival but date not yet fixed)).
Latest date in my calendar as at now is Nov 15th 2012 (and yes - it is a booze up! but your challenge is - what will the occasion be?)

I was right not to have booked for OB day: I have just heard that I shall probably be starting Chemothrapy that week in the hope of shrinking the litle bu***r invading my lung. Still and all I shall make a pest of myself on here for as long as poss.

Maggie - we love you and shall all be rooting for you. We need your earlier memories of Hertford for a long time to come.

How rotten Maggie. But I've heard that chemo is less debilitating these days so I hope it's successful and not too traumatic

I will try and pop in to see you!
Sorry to hear your news Maggie. I knew the treatment can make you feel awful BUT there are anti sickness drugs which appear to lessen the symptoms. My sil is going through this at the moment and the first treatment made her very ill but since being prescribed the drugs she has felt MUCH better after the chemo sessions.

Maggie, I'm so sorry to learn of your diagnosis, & sympathise - I've got a little b****r in my lung too! Surgery is on May 3rd., probably followed by chemo. Oh joy unbounded!

But if it's any consolation, my cousin (70) is having chemo currently for the same problem (there's a lot of these little b*****s about!

) & his wife says that with the anti-sickness drugs he takes, he's fine - just a little tired. Will be thinking of you next week.
