Can anyone (and I have no doubt someone can!) tell me what the initials stand for on the coat button?
Edwarduudus VI D. G. Rex F.
Thank you.

Thank you.
Isn't it something to do with being King by the grace of God? So, Deo gratias Rex, um and then I come unstuck - fidelis?

Edward the Sixth, by the grace of God King Defender of the Faith
I think the "Rex" might be in the wrong place, in your quotation.
The present Monarch has on British coins Elizabeth 11 D G (Deo Gratia -By the Grace of God) Reg (Regina) FD(Defender of the Faith.)--- Pound coin 2008
A 1984 Pound has a different design, and a different inscription around the edge ---- "Don't mess with me -- with impunity !"
Her Father had the added R.I. (Rex Imperator) when we had an Empire !
Please don't correct my Latin ------- I was a Geography Dep !! (But I was quite good at Rugby !

)
Lucky Me --- I have TWO pound coins !
