Dear all
I am conscious that activity on the Forum is slowing down somewhat, but I am worried that Julian may be lumbered with the cost of maintaining it. So I have today made a paltry contribution (I paid something last July, too.....). If you want the Forum to continue, please contribute also!

KERREN.

I haven't been on here for well over a week, due to a minor operation, AND a major family problem.

I'll E-Mail you later today.

John.

Annual donation sent last week. Julian always sends a friendly acknowledgement too. I wonder if the troll contributes?

JR, I hope things have improved for you and your family.

Yes and No. More advances have been made today, though it looks like I may well have to become the experienced 'advocate' I am, once again.

I am getting so seriously p*ssed off with the present so called leaders of this country.

I'm wondering if this is that phoney & disgraceful DLA Assessment, JR? If so, I hope you're getting professional CAB-type advice. And I hope you yourself have fully recovered from the hospital stay.
Yes, this Government stinks.

Yes, this Government stinks.

Yes it is DLA.

My enquiries have proved that 75% or thereabouts of all GENUINE white Bitish claiments are being suspended on 'Call Me Dave's' orders.

The tribunal system is already overloaded. We have obtained a full medical report from our own G.P., at great expense, which I WILL be claiming back for my daughter from DWP.

Revue medical is next Monday in Guildford, which I have to admit I'm looking forward too. We have amassed an A4 box file full of literature from five hospitals, 4 specialists, County Health and Social Workers. I hope the Doctor has been allowed a good two hours to go through it all !

Unfortunately, our family name isn't Singh or Patel, nor are we scrounging asylum seekers from Eastern Europe - Not that I'm prejudiced, mind you !

The last time there was a major "get them off the books" exercise, most of the doctors who applied to be assessors ( a nice little earner for ticking a few random boxes) had non-English names. When I had to call an emergency GP out to my mother once, he was a very expensively dressed, extremely patronising foreign person. Prejudice is taking a view before seeing the evidence; I've some experience of these exercises and no, JR, I wouldn't call you prejudiced. I've been accosted by a Romanian woman outside my hospital after chemotherapy - begging for cigarettes! She couldn't have known the irony of that situation!

John
I appreciate that you are probably very angry about your treatment over DLA (as a CAB advisor I see many others suffering the same treatment) but are you saying that you have evidence that the government are operating a policy that involves racial discrimination ?
By the way asylum seekers have a "no recourse to public funds" clause on their passports http://homeless.org.uk/migrants-asylum- ... BA03dXmDQI.

ANDREW.

I have sent you a (lengthy) PM to make the position clearer.

Not for the public domain.

John,

I hope this issue gets resolved.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that there is discrimination on racial grounds but there certainly seems to be a tendency at the moment for public bodies to obfuscate in paying over entitlements to perceived "soft" targets in the hope that they will give up in despair.

I sense they've picked the wrong target this time and a good job too!
