Apparently Gary Lineker visited CH today to film " Who do you think you are" so watch out for the next series on T.V! My son managed to get a great pic of himself with Gary, so he is very pleased!

So that would be 'the filming' we had to consent to.

Dd couldn't understand the fuss everyone was making over 'the man who sells crisps'.
So we explained about him being the most famous English footballer of his day, and current sports presenter. There was a pause, and a 'oh..... that makes sense now' ! Lol

There was a photo of him on Facebook yesterday, having lunch on the dais, and a tablecloth on the table. No tray for him.

Knife fork and spoon, or was he just having a packet of crisps ??
Can't wait to see what his connection is with CH.

Thanks.
Have put a reminder on my diary, though we do normally watch the show.

so the answer is Tom Billingham, legal document writer who learned his craft at CH. Great, great ...........grandfather of Gary Lineker.
In view of the filming and the inclusion of the school historian it is regrettable that no mention of CH was made in the final credits.

My son was shown briefly on the TV so he is now delighted! At least there were a few minutes of Ch shown
, I had feared it would be briefer than that.

DD very excited that she and her two friends were shown, walking from left to right across the screen. Not just a glimpse, either! Embarrassingly, mine was the one gawping at the cameraman, whilst the other two were cool enough to pretend to ignore him.
An excellent programme, we thought.

I do object very very strongly to this.
1 None of the pupils / youngsters was shown in even a remotely embarrassing situation
2 Although sole South Seas cultures believe that taking a photo steals part of their soul UK culture does not accept such a concept and in any case from their appearance none of the pupils is of South Seas origin
3 In the absence of information to the contrary those pupils shown had the option to walk behind the camera and not be seen.
so why demand consent - there was no paedophilia (though I don't know what happened behind closed doors though I strongly suspect the answer is "nothing")
and lastly I am furious that I was shown on TV a number of occasions (in two cases pointed out as an example) and the bar stewards never asked me if they could film me let alone transmit; that resulted in phone calls of complaint at 3.00 am

Did Gary Lineker really think that C.H. was a Hospital or was this a "set up" ? It would appear from the pre CH location part of the programme that he had never heard of the school. A feature of this and many other such "instant reality" ones was the obligatory introductory handshakes by people who obviously must have met prior to the actual filming; all specially done.
I suppose that these are relatively minor quibbles.
