Midwich Cuckoos - episode 3 - is this a Housey Girl or Boy?

Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

Indeed it is, from Ware in Hertfordshire but probably a boy from when the younger pupils were educated outside London. You can see the picture in full here: https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/blu ... ild-301083 and you can read the plaque if you scroll left and right.

If you Google 'bluecoat school statues' you can find it there; it is a place called Bluecoat Yard which seems to have been the school nurses' cottages and the stables.

Julian,
Hi - I am still here!
It is definitely NOT a CH girl. Girls wore a very different uniform from the boys until 1985; i.e., on the 'merger.'

I thought that the hairstyle looked a bit modern and the 'child' looked a bit old. The sculptor was born in 1939 so this is clearly a modern work. It is absolutely correct that there was a CH outstation in Ware and there is nothing wrong in having a statue to commemorate that fact, but a younger sitter would have been more accurate.
David

I don’t remember the statue, but do remember looking for the site, we lived just north of Ware most of the time I was at CH.
