Given all the fluster about immigrants and small boats (would they rather they came across in large boats?) I'm surprised (or maybe not) that this issue which is all over our media has not produced a squeak on the CH Unofficial website. Where are the Farageists and Robinsonites? - the painters of red and white crosses on other people's properties? And by contrast where the bleeding heart liberals who believe these unfortunates should be met with open arms? I've long felt that the wide-open acres of Christ's Hospital should be utilised to accommodate some of these people, especially those who are on the run from the chaos and anarchy created by our invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. What is the centre of gravity of opinion among our illustrious ex-public school types?

Probably, the subject has never produced a squeak on this forum, because nobody else has considered it relevant to this particular forum.

There is indeed a General Chat - Non CH section which we are currently posting in. My own street in sunny Saltdean (five miles east of the People's Republic of Brighton) was on the BBC South East News the other night when red flags had appeared high up on street lamps and took what I imagine to be cherrypickers from the Council to remove them. I wondered whether any such flags had been hung from Big School or red crosses painted in the Quad.

One of the more bizarre snapshots of Saturday's demo by T Robinson and his football hooligans was the appearance of crosses (Calvary style) which were there to be picked up and borne by his long-suffering Christian followers. This was a new one on me. I'm used to going on UK Uncut actions, or Anti-Austerity marches, or Save the NHS marches, or supporting the Disabled People Against Cuts movement, but on many of those the only pre-printed placards to be picked up were by the Socialist Workers Movement who always seemed to do the most professional-looking productions. So crosses? I gather that this was "Christian Nationalism". That too is a new one on me. In my day would The Chain, Windy or Corks (even if sober) have recognised Christian Nationalism? I call on Dr Batterbee who has an angle on religion to fill us in.
