Increased Post-9/11 Security Levels at CH: Eh?

I'm told that the skool is now anally security-conscious. What I'm wondering is, are all the doors of each house still left unlocked all night as in days of yore?

Or is everything battened down to keep out an imagined army of burglars, perverts, serial killers and suicide bombers?

Very interesting question, Jack !

This matter was touched upon at a clandestine meeting and beer sampling on Saturday afternoon.

One can't help but thinking that now half-term is over, there may be fewer posts on this site, BUT that's ANOTHER story !

All locked and checked by Security! (well, in theory anyway!)

I know that it is relatively easy to move between houses - there is only 1 security guard on duty at night and he (or she) can't be everywhere at once...

There are a large number of security cameras though...

Why bother with an I.D. Card ?

One Security Officer, male/female. (Female - No problem - Will be 'doing' her hair !)

Security camera's ? Great. If she's doing her hair, she won't be watching the monitors. We've already established that there aren't any dogs ! (I dare you Richard, I JUST DARE you !)

To be honest, as long as you don't look guilty, you will be fine!

So a mask, stripey t-shirt and a large bag marked 'SWAG' might be the only thing to draw attention.....

By the way, a friend informed me that every time such a bag appears in a cartoon, a certain Gene Simmons earns a royalty as, apparently, he owns the rights to the image.

Very clever, if true.

If I wanted to go visit CH these days, would I be able to pose as someone else on reporting to security? Or do they demand ID, to prevent Gary Glitter wandering around the premises willy nilly?

I thought you chaps might appreciate this. Received in an email from a fellow OG (not on here).

It is from the US (American Civil Liberties Union) but I bet the government are rubbing their hands.

Scarrrry, I love my pizza.

I don't normally have much time for the civil liberty arguments, but that takes it to a whole new level.

The matter of Security and Identity was raised over a pint or three last Saturday.

As the ethos of the school has always been for the welfare of OB's, (allegedly), I suggested that all OB's who wanted them, be issued with an identity card by the Orifice so they could have open access to the school without being challeged is some manner reminiscent of Gestapo tactics.

I do appreciate that security in this day and age is very important, but...............
