Players No 6 thats how I " learnt " to smoke..taught by someone in Col B who later got expelled for drugs.

But the joy of starting a term with a fresh tin of baccy, the misery if one of the killjoys called grecians found you.

Me: Old Holborn and a packet of blue Rizlas.

Used to be Old Holborn and green Rizlas - a classic combo!

Always liked 'Boar's Head' too - lovely stuff!

Definitely Golden Virginia - Old Holborn always reminds me too much of pipe tobacco

While I was there, Drum seemed to be the 'in' baccy. Disgusting stuff

Definitely blue Rizla though

If you buy Amber-Leaf, it's slightly cheaper, AND you get a pack of papers - FREE !!

Amber leaf was my drug of choice but JR - those papers never keep stuck (at least they didn't when I quit 3 yrs ago). Green definitely ruled!

I never could understand the weirdos who went for Cutter's choice though. And Drum was certainly not disgusting; it was simply an acquired taste.

Very acquired..

However, with menthol filters anything is smokable :D

Anyone ever use snuff?

There was a time when it was quite popular at C.H. Horsham (the shop in Middle Street had a fine selection).

It was only a passing fad, though.....

Snuff was a "passing fad" in ThB on my UF. Quite a discreet way of consuming tobacco, but not recommended as the tobacco particles are miniscule. I remember an occasion where a friend panicked while taking snuff and inhaled far too much - the results were not pleasant and put me off taking snuff again. The Horsham tobacconist also had a good variety of flavoured tobaccos, "cherry brandy" was pleasant but cut too thick.

My combo was drum and green rizla.

Sounds horrible!

However, I do have experience of 'Consulate' menthol fags....

There was a time when a few of us used to smoke them (1975/1976?), mainly during hot weather, I think.

Don't know why we bothered, really......

I've tried snuff on a few occasions, but never really took to it.

Consulate ciggies are GREAT if you have a bit of a sniffle or light cold.

Ah CONSULATEs - my first fag, via my older bro' ( at a disgustlingly young age ) - have smoked menthols ever since - never could do with roll-ups, even when a skint student ...but then in my day, menthol filters didn't exist!
