Re: Hertford photos
ok I am back in the frame after being out for a long time - sadly due to one persons words. No need to name and shame. I have some photo's of us from April this year - sadly not that many! For some reason I seemed too often to try to get a picture, only to find out it was all blurred (the old MS is a wonderful thing - I need to get a tremor safe camera!).
If anyone wants more pics then let me know -
I remember the announcement of 8's closing as early as 1979, with a general reduction of intake of girls over the next 4 years before the transistion to Horsham. The 6th form were kept on as they were close to their A levels etc, but the 5th form in 1980/01 were to have gone to Horsham to do their A levels there, leaving current 6th formers, and the 4th form which carried on to the 5th form. I know it sounds weird but it worked!
Amazingly Mary had all the house colours correct - 5's had canary yellow games socks as purple wasn't available!
Catching up on posts from this year and last is going to be a strain! One photo I took of Miss Morrison and another member of staff (unrecognised by any of us in April!)was taken in 1973 & was watching the rehearsal for the ten Centenary service in Westminster Abbey of theRoyal Mathematical School - so there should be a corresponding boys one, as well as something somewhere about the event. The answer came from Miss Tucker, my Headmistress (for the time I was there!).
