Floating lessons
I'm a newcomer to this forum so haven't had a chance to catch up on all the messages. I've read about Thames mud, all out etc. but I haven't come across the "floating lesson" joke played on 2nd formers - the idea that you had an extra lesson of whatever subject floating in the pool.
also anyone remember chocolate bunnies? or bunnies of some sort?what was that all about?
and many haps?
and the wardobe room/dorm/hot room tests
and what about being 'cracked' on someone?
or am I just hallucinating?????

I don't remember floating lessons but I do remember the rest apart from the wardrobe room tests. The dorm & bathroom tests were still going strong right up until we left Hertford.
If you search on this part of the forum you will find a few mentions of cracks, chocolate bunnies etc.

I don't think I have seen a mention of Many Haps (never to be said to you in your last term). It was on your number of days before the end of term - I usually got mine as 14 it was just 2 weeks most could work that out. The higher numbers were frequently forgotten.
In your last term (in 6s anyway) it was Happy Birthday.
Like Vonny, no memory of floating lessons.
Welcome to the Forum Gillie.

Re: Floating lessons
This is just a brief, but strange experience. I couldn't quite think where to post it!
I've just been staying with an old friend in Cornwall for a few days, and very much enjoyed a visit to an aquarium in Mevagissey. Peering into one of the tanks I suddenly recognised a very familiar face.
It was a fish - a John Dory. There was an exact resemblance to the Rev Walker! The drooping lower lip! The gloomy regard of bored resignation! I could hardly believe it.
(There. I thought it might not be too successful to begin a thread entitled "Fish who resemble a menber of staff"...)

"Baldrick, you wouldn't recognise a cunning plan if it painted itself purple, and danced naked on top of a harpsichord singing "Cunning plans are here again.""

Re: Floating lessons
It may be too saucy for the site but I'm wondering whether it's the same terminology for "fruitbat" that we had at CH....
