Re-roofing the Sports Centre

Hadn't heard about the re-roofing, but it comes as no surprise when you consider the plan the Property Committee went for.
Please refer to Masterplan - from bad to much much worse II. In it I mention that certain Almoners involved in the awarding of the Sports Centre contract curiously didn't go ...

By the way - the same principle of a few dodgy members costing the reputation of a whole organisation could also be applied to the Almoners.
Most Almoners undoubtedly have the best interests of CH at heart.
However, a few seem to have their own financial interests also at heart.
These ones are ...

A bit complicated.

Just click on the 'quote' box in the top right hand corner of the post you want to quote.
Well, I seem to have messed that up.

Nail hit on head, I think!

I second that.

The Ridley Society has actual names.
I also agree that not all Freemasons are corrupt and conniving. However, there's very strong evidence to suggest certain ones involved with the running of the school are.
Of course, these ones also bring into ...

It's not exactly rocket-science, is it ???

You should see the documents in the Ridley Society's possession (copies of which are now with the Charities Commission) regarding the Sports Centre contract.
Decisions made about which building firm to award the contract to can only be described as extremely baffling.
For instance, the market leader ...

Spiderlegs is right about one thing at least...

If you doubt the facts behind -
The move to Total Return, see the Clerk's recent report (I think at the end of the summer term). He breezily mentioned it there as a sensible way of moving the school forward.
Previous disastrous sales of London ...

Masterplan – from bad to much much worse II

CH is an extremely wealthy organisation (the sixth largest charity in Britain?) because it owns a varied assortment of land and property in London and Sussex. The income generated by these assets has, by and large, been sufficient to fund the running of the school for the past few hundred years ...

a two tier system of boarding houses

My understanding is that the Clerk has indicated the remaining boarding houses will be finished off at a cost of £5 million.
This will create a two tier system - and for those around at the school when the first boarding houses were revamped, you may remember the bad feeling it caused among ...

'a brilliant and ambitious project'

Surely anyone can come up with the plans for a brilliant and ambitious project. (The Millennium Dome could have been classed as such.)
But when the people in charge then try and enact their plan on ridiculously optimistic financial projections of future economic ...

MasterPlan - from bad to much much worse

More on the Almoners' glorious MasterPlan. A couple of well-placed sources have recently contacted the Ridley Society about its latest disastrous lurches.
As predicted by the Ridley Society in 1999, the over ambitious project now seems in total tatters. Rumour has it that all further building ...

It's weird isn't it? When facing the possibility of a huge estate being built on their doorstep, most people take the 'NIMBY' aproach, and start discussing better use of brown-field sites, redevelopment of unused spaces within existing towns or questioning the whole ethos of encouraging investment ...

Masterplan - forces Foundation Hymn lyric change

Remember that slightly stomach-turning hymn all about the idyllic location of CH, ‘Ring’d with down and woodland fair’?
Despite their promises not to, the Council of Almoners has (once again) expressed their desire to have school land made available for development. If they ...
