:offtopic: already

I have just discovered Crabbie's alcoholic ginger beer, and it's delicious.

There used to be close on 400 distilleries and some of those produced several different aged whiskies. Given that each distillery product tastes dofferent, that there are differences from one year to another (though they try hard to reduce the differences) and each different "age" of an individual distillery's product is different, that there are huige differences between different areras (such as the Western Isles and Speyside) I'm surprised you can't find one you like.

Don't try to swill it down - take tiny sips and allow time between them. After the first sip the deepness of the taste appears to diminish and you can appreciate it more. Ice cold can dim the taste a bit though I prefer it at room temperature, with the glass warmed in the hand like a good brandy so that even the fumes are delightfully sufficient.

There are many so-called do's and don'ts; just have it as you enjoy it. I had a Richard Ruck type experience on my stag night (though no red wine involved!) so now I can only drink perhaps two shots an evening but I can make them laaaaaassssssssttttttttttt and really enjoy them.
Having more money doesn't make you happier. I have 50 million dollars
but I'm just as happy as when I had 48 million.

During the War, the Family won a bottle of Whiskey in a raffle--- and put it away in the Kitchen.

The bottle disappeared --- and, during the investigations, Great-Grandfather (Strong Teetotaller and Rechabite) remarked that he had poured it down the sink --- !!!!!

Shock/horror ensued -- "But we could have sold it ! " (At an enormous price, in those days)

His calm reply was -------"And then some other poor fool would have drunk it !!"

I have always rather admired the old man -- if you have principles --- stick to them !
