Thank you, my 'orthodox' boss is on leave currently and has been on the phone on adaily basis nad has been ending his call with something incomprehensible. I know now, thanks to the learned OB walking these ethereal halls, that he may well have been saying Pesakh!! Or of course, he might not, he is Cornish after all!!

I seem to remember that the last regular Cornish speaker died only a few decades ago. What a pity that Kernewek (Cornish) and Deunansek Koth (Devonian) have virtually died out. Does he say something like s' euuil? If so, be happy that he is happy.

I've recently become fascinated reading about Hassidic Judaism in Reva Mann's brilliant memoir "The Rabbi's Daughter - A Truue Story of Sex, Drugs and Orthodoxy".

Therefore, I have added the Jewish Chronicle to my daily newspaper perusal.

Look! On the front page you are referred to one of those video thingies entitled "The 10 Plagues - Reimagined if Moses had an iPhone"!

It's...divine!!!! Tee hee.

Therefore, I have added the Jewish Chronicle to my daily newspaper perusal.
I once met a former member of World War Two Bomber Command - one of the crew of a Lancaster. A Jew, on every mission over Germany he took six milk bottles, six copies of the previous week's Jewish Chronicle and some sticky tape. On the outward trip he inserted one copy of the newspaper into each bottle and taped up the open end - he said it helped to pass the time. Then, once the bombing was completed and they were on the return leg he would throw bottles out of the flare chute each time they flew over a German town. As each bottle left the aircraft, he muttered, in Yiddish, of course, "who's the master race now, you ********?"

I like that. A class act.
