Back to bread again, we have been enjoying bread mad with SPELT flour-delicious toasted, with M&S smoked salmon pate.
On the subject of food, can anyone advise on how to cure an addiction to McVities CARAMEL CHOCOLATE DIGESTIVES???

The Romans used spelt flour to make bread. Very good for you. My mother loves it and makes her own half and half (ie with some strong white bread flour) but Morrisons also do a bakery loaf with it. As for food issues/addictions, I have been spending the best part of 30 years trying to come to terms with mine. At the moment I would say, give up and enjoy!

Bash up the digestives, lay into a baking tray with melted butter, let it set then pour caramel then melted chocolate over the top....
Then cut them up into tiny bite size pieces and take them out and give them to friends etc... People will love them so much there will be none left for you to eat

Ooooooh! Can't say/write that in something which gets to the US or they'll have you up before the beak. There's (alledgedly) no proof that those things do anything for any digestive system so the name is banned. You have to call them Graham Crackers - which I reckon is a bit crackers itself. Just like circuit training is called a Cooper elsewhere. There furriners ...............Sallz wrote:Bash up the digestives, lay into a baking tray with melted butter, let it set then pour caramel then melted chocolate over the top....

Since TBA and I are both Type 1 Diabetics, on Insulin (For 30 TBA and 54 NTN Years) I don't think we will be indulging in the delicious recipes !
I was struck by Circuit Training being called a "Cooper" -------- as far as I am concerned, it should be a "Tommy Cooper" !!
(you are probably too young to understand !)

Would the Cooper in question be Kenneth Cooper, 'inventor' of the original form of aerobics, perhaps, before it became a fashionable pastime? ~I have a paperback copy of his original book.

I wouldn't be at all surprised though how Brazilians made the connection I also have no idea.Fjgrogan wrote:Would the Cooper in question be Kenneth Cooper, 'inventor' of the original form of aerobics, perhaps, before it became a fashionable pastime? ~I have a paperback copy of his original book.
Neil: as for Tommy - I am quite old enough to remember him, thank you very much.
