All members of CHOBA get this.
I thought we had explained this in the recent Old Blue.
Communications failure again!
But if CHOBA does not have your details (as is possibly the position with Katharine) then presumably you won't have seen the explanation in the recent Old Blue as you won't have received it.

Not really a communications failure in those circumstances surely!?

Was it not her Ladyship, who was told by DR that she would never come to anything and was a total failure ?

A pity she could not have gone back to meet DR and say "Look here my good woman -- you address me as "Your Ladyship !" "

(I expect she IS too much of a Lady, to do so ------- but wouldn't you Hertford Girls have applauded !!!)

I intended to write BO!!OCKS across a copy of my A Level results and send them to DR (who had asked me, at my leaving interview, when I expected her to smile and cheer at the thought of being rid of me, if I realised that I would never amount to anything because of my decision to leave CH at the end of UVth), but my Mum wouldn't let me

Which Ladyship?

Not really John, I worded my post wrongly, I should have said "I thought we all got this, where's mine?". I was feeling miffed that I didn't have it! It has arrived today.

My husband, who edits a quarterly 64 page A5 full colour magazine queried who was paying for The Blue given that CH is a charity foundation.

Regarding who pays for it:- Parents of current pupils were asked to contribute £ 7.00 towards the cost and I believe this was added to our termly bill for extras such as music lessons etc. These contributions would clearly not cover the entire cost of producing and distributing the magazine.

That's a bit tough on CH parents - they already pay a high price for a CH education, so money for extras like this must be very difficult to find. I'd gladly pay for my copy if it relieved a bit of pressure there.

For CHOBA members it is free.
When the CH Club was wound up there were remnant funds put into a ring fenced fund, principally for use for funding the Old Blue. With the change of format of the Old Blue, these funds can be "stretched" to allow CHOBA members to get the Blue, which does include information on principal Old Blue activities during the year in question.
There is a shortfall, hence the inclusion of adverts.

When (occasionally) I go to the theatre in London the programme is not as big as this and and I am charged £10.00 if I want one,

Where do I send my £10.00 for The Blue?

I am very happy with paying a £ 7.00 contribution, the magazine and cd are really excellent and I think I have got very good value for money !

I think it was £10 that we paid not £7. I don't think I mind much. It is good to get the info and the music from the school and it you can't really expect to get something of this quality for nothing. There is probably an option to opt out if parents feel strongly enough.

What I did think was a shame was seeing the music CD on sale on Ebay within 24 hours of me receiving mine (I have a saved Christ's Hosptial search!).

That's treason! Clues: the seller is a private person, not a dealer apparently, called "Lily-Rose", living in Marlborough, Wiltshire. Anyone recognise "her"?

Yeah ! ---- We'll send "The Boys" round !

Come to think of it --- it would be far more effective to send "The Girls" -------- GBH JR ? What say you ?
