I see Angela Woodford has stung a barb at me ------
Ah well,
I should however like to point out, that this particular thread is entitled "The "New" Old Blue.
There is another --- entitled "Hertford Memories," perhaps her comment would be better so directed, however I imagine the Editor has taken note of her "Complaint" -- whatever that may be.

I wouldn't "sting a barb at" you NEILL. Shouldn't you say that you "have been stung" by my barb?NEILL THE NOTORIOUS wrote:I see Angela Woodford has stung a barb at me ------

NEILL - Hertford Old Girls don't have their own publication. Therefore, published accounts of the lost world of Hertford go into the Old Blue.
I do realise that there is a thread for Hertford Memories in the Forum, NEILL. We are talking about the Magazine, not the Forum! However, John did ask for suggestions of Old Girls who might be contacted for their memories for the Old Blue. To ask Diana Garnham is a great idea, Caroline!
HOGOF Jude Comber put a terrific arial photo of the Hertford campus on Facebook not so long ago.

Re: The "New" Old Blue
I was a bit "Miffed" by the fact that I thought the "Me me me " was a bit personal ----
But I shall leave it there, --- otther than to remark, that I believe it should be "I, I, I," ------ the verb "To be" taking the nomanitive ?
English Angel will, doubtless, give the correct grammarian decision ! ----

[quote="NEILL THE NOTORIOUS"]MOTTO ----- Do not mess with Eng. Ang. on Eng. Gram.
I am trying to think of a quote, on the lines "Where Angels fear to tread"
What on earth has "Geog-Deppiness" got to do with intereresting material for the New Old Blue?
Whatever Geog-Deppiness may be?

Re: The "New" Old Blue
ISTR that NTN once mentioned being a Geog.-Dep. in the sense of not being quite as bright as a "bona" Dep., Angela. Does that help at all?Angela Woodford wrote:

Actually, it is more likely to be taking the nominative, but let's not quibble!!"...the verb "To be" taking the nomanitive ?"

Re: The "New" Old Blue
Best if we all stopped this hilarity, and got back to the subject of the "New" Old Blue !
Yes, the Geog-deppiness does apply to the likes of people, who were kept on at CH, not for academic ability--- but the desire to keep an unbeaten Rugby team !
Of course, this couldn't happen now ---- could it ???
