So the New Entrants pack has arrived, and we're off....

Eye test booked, don't think I'll be able to arrange a dentist appointment in the time we've been give (Bit full up over the next 2 weeks). Can we register at a later date with the dentist?

Just have to find a solicitor. :D

The school dentist is fab and is no hassle. Sign up with him unless you particularly want to organise dentist appointments etc in the holidays.

I was particularly worried about the solicitor but just phoned up a local one and told them what I needed and it was really easy and only cost £10 I think. It can be done for free through the CAB if you are near a branch.

Congratulations on the start of your journey! Bit of a rollercoaster perhaps but very exciting and well worth it.

I think we just went to our local dentist at some point before DS started and got the info we needed then. No need to panic and get it done in the next 2 weeks if physically impossible. :)

£5 for the swearing of the oath thingy. (although I still have to fill in the blasted thing, but at least I do have all the information)

With regards to including any payslips containing overtime and bonus', does anyone know what difference this makes in respect to your gross pay and fees?

No, but they do tend to like them, and it gets pretty cold walking up to breakfast in the winter!

The children can buy their own scarf from the tuck shop if they want to. I did not get one for my DS in advance, however when the snow came I gave him some pocket money to buy one. He did wear it a lot when it was cold and snowy.

The school scarfs are knitted by Mummy Plum on the knitting machine and the tassles sown in by Grandma Plum! :) (or at least they were - I don't know if they still are!)

Regarding sportswear, I'm off to the thrift shop next week, but just wanted to check that I won't be singling my son out by buying the 'old' brand of sports kit, I understand it's still ok for the children to wear it.

Can't wait to come up for New Entrants Day :D

Old and new sports kit both seem to be accepted equally well. If he is sporty and gets into sports teams he may need the new style but otherwise it is fine. Plain white polo shirts are perfectly acceptable unless representing the school :)

Very exciting! I remember it well :)

Arrgghh

The official website has changed, and no longer has the list of sports uniform. Not a real problem as I assume we'll be given a list on Sunday, BUT I'm going to the Thrift shop on Thursday, to save myself the hassle on Sunday and now I'm not sure how many of everything I need

If it's Matron Lewis on duty in the Thrift Shop she will be able to help you out.

my daughter has just found out who her squit is for this year. She is SO excited! I remember being so worried this time last year that she wouldnt fit in or keep up with the work. It's all good. I find it best not to panic too much these days as she was definitely picking up worried vibes from me.
