I can remember being St Pancras. Dram Soc must have done "1066" again!

Is that a 'stationary' role, perchance ??

Pardon me while I have another little burst of reminiscence -'Three little saints who all unwary come from a Roman seminary, freed from from its genius tutelary, three little saints from Rome, three little saints from Rome'!!

I've only just joined the forum, read this rather late! I remember Richard of Bordeaux. Somewhere in the loft I have a copy with a cast list in it. I'll look it out and if anyone is still intertested, I'll post it. I played Henry. I was Carol Bennett then.

Re: Shrove Tuesday Plays
Shrove Tuesday was always a welcome break from the total tedium of the Spring term. Anything was better than the hated Founder's day Dance. (Oh, but then I remember the conjurer/magician - that was toe-curling)

I was at CH Hertford from 1955 to 1962 and whilst I don';t remember the conjuror, I do remember the Founder's Day Dance. How bizarre was that! Having to fill up your dance programme as though you were at a society ball! Ballroom Dancing with other girl s(when all we wanted to do was jive) to the music of Miss King on violin accompanied by tea-chest double bass and comb and paper "kazoos" And you were allowed to wear coloured hair ribbons!
Those were the days eh!

The conjuror was in honour of DR's nth anniversary as Head.

Welcome Carol. Which Ward/House were you in?
I don't remember Chrissy's conjuror either! I do remember Founders Day Dances, I think they may have finished when the four term year came in.

Re: Shrove Tuesday Plays
What a find! Interesting that I can see names of 4 of the 6 of us in the Senior VI that term, I did the lights for Quality Street, can't remember how Cott (Susan Cottingham) was involved. The Competition would definitely have to be complete by the end of term!

Re: Shrove Tuesday Plays
Yes, my programme was definitely an official school one. So this was almost certainly a "public" performance rather than part of the competition.
