I cant believe only two people on this board have the sense to see Marmite for what it is....

Any other things on the polarising list though?

Ahh - then smelly cheeses are a great divider ( think Munster, Gorgonzola, or Livarot ...)
Personally, I only call it cheese if is is strong enough to move to my plate by itself !

I am with you on that one Barbara.

So why don't I like smelly socks?

You can never finish discussing beer - it's just too interesting a topic. :D

I mostly like to drink good ale (which limits my choice of pubs quite a bit), but there is also a place for good lager, especially German, Czech, Japanese etc.

Unfortunately a lot of British pubs just serve mass-produced rubbish which has a nasty metallic taste and gives you a headache.

I'm sure that Satan is already involved in the brewing industry - that's why we see unspeakable (and undrinkable) garbage like Caffrey's (and any other 'smoothflow' beer) in our pubs. This stuff and American 'lite' beers are absolute proof of the involvement of the horned one. Beer for people who don't really like beer.

Younger drinkers can at least be grateful that they missed the '60s and '70s - the heyday of Watney's Red Barrel, Double Diamond, etc.

OK, rant over, but it won't take much to set me off again......a mention of 'a cup of Bovril' should do it. Anyone out there who actually likes drinking the stuff?

My husband does, and Oxo cubes made up, I think it is disgusting.

Also Horlicks (the old type) and broad beans are a big no-no, even the smell makes me heave. (puking smiley page won't load
