The seller has a very eclectic collection of postcards. Some of them bring back memories for me.
Littlestone-on-Sea.
I come from Rye and our Sunday school outings were to Littlestone.
Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham.
When I first met my (now) husband we were students at Aston University and he lived in a flat opposite Cannon Hill Park.
Promenade Gardens, Cleveleys.
For the first 8 months of 1974 my (now) husband was doing work experience with ICI at Cleveleys and we used to pitch and putt in the gardens when I was there in the summer.
We got engaged there in late August.
I bet you all wanted to know that.
Then of course there are the Hertford school gates of course

"(now) husband" sounds like you have plans for him.
Don't let Miss Marple read this.
What I meant was he is now my husband though he obviously wasn't at the time.
He refers to me as his first wife.

eBay etc.
I am an eBay collector of CH memorabilia (London, Hertford and Horsham) and its interesting to try and identify when one is bidding against a fellow Old Blue!
In the meantime, I have a box containing about a dozen postcards (unused) from Hertford - most showing the gates/square in about the 60's (after it went pink) and about 100 'left over' new Old Girls' badges.
I suppose I ought to donate these to the Foundation for the Greater Good, and may do so once the newly invigorated CHA Board has worked a way forward for memorabilia. In the meantime, I am happy to provide a postcard and/or a badge (until supplies are exhausted) to any Hertford Old Blue, for the cost of post and packing. Just let me know?

The best eBay postcard
Which I bought for a song, was a sepia picture of the gym in the 1920's.
When I received it, however, I discovered that it had been 'postally used'.
It had been sent to an Old Girl, thanking her for her best wishes for Founder's Day (it used to be the custom for OG's to send cards/letters/telegrams to the School to congratulate it on Founder's Day). The card described the FD celebrations, which were followed by a Board of Education inspection which the 'girls had greatly enjoyed'. It was dated November 1929 - and signed 'NC Craig'.
I wonder how much that postcard is really worth?
I shall be donating it to the Museum at Horsham, when I have finished enjoying it.
So, just sometimes, there really are bargains on eBay!

I nearly said PayPal would be fine but we are only talking £1 or so and I'd lose most of that in PayPal charges.
Could you send a 'camouflaged' coin or a cheque or postal order instead? Home address is 6 Eastern Close, East Preston, Littlehampton, West Sussex BN16 1BS.
Don't forget to give me your name, as well!

Hi Kerren,
Do you have a scanner? Or a digitial camera? If so, could I request some scans of the postcards and badges, please?
I'm not after a freebie—obviously, I'm a post-merger female OB—but I think these are just the sort of thing that is of interest in one of the CHA galleries.
