Yes - magnificent news... What an achievement! Can you imagine sitting on top of the world...I have flown past Everest many times (Bankgkok - Kathmandu... a wonderful flight) - and its majesty and mightiness never ceases to amaze.

What wonderful wonderful news! Worthy of a toast in their honour this evening.

yesterday the first man with both legs amputated reached the top. do you think they passed him on their ascent as he was on his way down? is there a queue to the summit these days?

I was motivated by their tremendous achievement to make a donation to Cancer Research UK on the boys' behalf. I did it through their website. Perhaps others might be inspired to do the same...

http://www.everest-2006.com/release.php

"They say the climb was motivated by the fight of both cancer sufferers close to them, as well as adults who have devoted their time to giving opportunities to youngsters such as themselves. They are raising money for Cancer Research UK, and hope to inspire other youngsters to follow their dreams, whilst encouraging the dedicated individuals who continue to provide them with those opportunities."

Well done, lads, rather you than me! Question--would they have done it if they hadn't gone to CH?
