I'm just waiting for the heads to start rolling.
The above are consecutive posts on this thread. One of the things I just love on this forum is the marvellous sequential logic of it all.Tim_MaA_MidB wrote:Or, to post an image, you can save it and upload it to your website and then link to it using the image (Img) tags.

There's a "how to" here which I've moved from the Photos section into the First Time Visitors section as a "Sticky"Exiled_in_Rome wrote:... not that I want to flood the forum with pictures or anything.. but how did you do that (post picture)... I looked in the "First time visitors" section but couldn't find out...

Well that started you all looking at the flag properly which is just what I wanted you to do!
A Union flag flown on a boat is a Jack (well donEA - did you google that too?) (I'm surprised that DBTS didn't come zooming in with that!)
Or if it is flown at the stern (ir is it the 2nd flag on the mast??) It is an ensign.... brain noodles again...
yes I meant one Tudor Rose and 2 Fleur - I have an imprint of the school flag on my brain and it is full of dates and reasons etc as to how the school came into being etc,,, It must have been bashed in pretty hard!!
Anyhow - Back to the subject - well done boys....!!

So how do you tell which way-up to fly your Union Flag/Jack??
Upside down signals distress from what I recall, but I'd never know which was up is correct!

The wider Red strip should be at the top of the flag.....jtaylor wrote:So how do you tell which way-up to fly your Union Flag/Jack??

Have you noticed the number of idiots who are consuming more fuel, making more greenhouse gases and increasing their drag -co-efficiency by flying ST. George Flags from their car windows???
I may be patriotic but I keep it at home and I try to minimise the damage on the planet!

Surely you mean the white strip, on the left hand side, I was in callais a few years ago at a wine warehouse and to my dismay they were flying the union flag upside down. Yes I do mean the union flag the only time its called a Union Jack is if its on a ship.Jude wrote:The wider Red strip should be at the top of the flag.....
