The benefits of CH?

A friend of mine knows a child who has (I think) been offered a place at CH. Its an extremely worthy cause but the child is somewhat reticent.

He's asked me to give him a list of all the plus points of the place (especially those which would appeal to an 11 year old).

So, help me out everyone...

Ok... *takes a deep breath*

fantastic grounds
great musical opportunities
fantastic sports facilities
fantastic theatre
smaller class sizes than most secondary schools
upgraded accommodation - meant to be very nice now
longer holidays (!!)
chances for some great school trips
a flourishing scout troop
good facilities for art and CDT
the food is better than when I went there!
an idiosyncratic uniform
making the best friends of your life...

I could go on and on

The biggest thing I missed when I left was that everything is "on tap" - sports, music etc. etc. - there's always friends around, people keen to join in with whatever you want to do, from a game of squash or kicking a rugby ball around, through to music and other hobbies.....
"Opportunity" would sum it up for me...........

11 year olds generally dont see the benefits (long term anyway) of great opportunities (or most dont) - i think the points need to be focused on socialising and being able to lead a similar life to his peers at similar schools.

Thing is though i dont think 11 year olds and the junior years at ch are getting the same experiences as 11year olds at other schools! In many ways yes as the get excellent facilities to use and good education but socially they are slightly molly cuddled.

One of our Grand-Daughters, (Amber) would absolutely LOVE to go to CH.

She has just gone up to secondary school with a glowing primary school academic record.

The problem is finding a sponsor !!!

I wish I could get my youngest to CH, the other two are too old now, but I fear it will take a lottry win to be able to afford it.
