If Deb GP is indeed a General Practitioner - why does that mean that one can not make inappropriate posts???
I seem to recall from days at university that the med students were often well over the top........
hahaha - my wife (then girlfriend) used to get really p*****d off with me cos the world cup was on during our finals and she kept disturbing me by studying while I was trying to concentrate on the football.....
turned out alright tho - it was over 25 years ago!!!
No wonder the Labour party has brought in tuition fees - you lot obviously mucked about so much that they decided that they had to charge us all!
I was a bit daft in my 1st year, but studied hard in 2nd and 3rdyrs. I think you should go to uni only if you have the need for further education - then those who go are the ones who WANT to learn - Sure this week my daughter is spending more time under the influence of alcohol than not, but it is freshers week! She starts her course next Monday - and I don't think she could bear the failure of not passing her exams. So she will I expect (and hope!) work hard and party hard - that way it's a good balalnce.
Parents who force their young to go to uni to study are most likely to get a shock.. the kids I saw when I was an aged (mature) student who were forced did no work, disrupted lectures and were basically a nusiance to those of us who wanted to get the degree, often they got sent down.

you may well find it interesting to know that MATURE students are very well accepted at most Uni's and you can go on to teach (that's what they want).. I am thinking of going Masters / PhD... but quite what in I'm not certain - it's supposed to follow your degree - but I am fed up with IT and computers!

I would hazard a guess that you were an Arts Student.
either that or he missed out some of his modules! I had 1½ days of no lectures - in a week - during that time I was writing course work or doing the kids washing!
