Pigeon pie.........Yum yum. We used to go shooting the pigeons on CH grounds in the holidays then get one of the estate wives to bake the resulting catch in a pie, lovely!

my son has gone off on a team building excersise with his new job, which includes clay pidgeon shooting - my daughter was rather too good with a rifle in CCF! Thankfully she found her "Inner girlie" and quit as she didn't enjoy crawling across a wet and muddy field with cows in it!!!

It would be more fun if the clay pigeons looked like pigeons

I am fine with almost any whole healthy animal, it is when they get sick, injured or squashed I am hopeless, probably becasue I am also helpless.

I mentioned this when I took a sick rabbit to the vet and told him I was a nurse/midwife. He said he had delivered everything from hamsters to horses, but fainted when his wife had a baby.

Or as my husband calls them, sh1t e-hawks. I don't mind spiders (the larger ones are called Henry) but have a strong aversion to dogs of all 'brands'. Never mind pigeons cr@pping on the car, dodging the obstacle courses of dog muck is just vile, especially with the kids in tow.

Just the sight of the word spider is enough to set my wife off. She tries very hard to cope with them but when they get to about the size of half a hand, thats it, she is out of the room.

The only things that I don't like are wasps really - I get a bit squeamish with them - otherwise the bugs that you find in Africa are fascinating - I love the huge millipedes!

The bird eating spiders are pretty spectacular and some of the creepy crawlies in Belize make me shudder just thinking about them

Well quite simple really, Leicester where i was a student have enough to rival Trafalger Square!!! To get from my house to uni or town you had to go through a park and at the entrance to it there was a narrow bridge over the canal. Anyway a number of Indian women would throw out for them bits of naan bread etc and they would flock, problem was they did right across the bridge so you had to walk into them to get through. Then they would fly up at all angles and in particular in direction of face! Which freaked me out a treat! Which is why i do not like pigeons!

When my mother bought my primary school uniform, I was horrified to find that I had to wear a school cap! It was only later that I found out how useful those caps actually were.
To get to school, I had to walk through a small park. A particular section of the path in the park was known as bomb alley because hundreds of pigeons would sit in the trees crapping on anything that moved. The path was so full, you couldn't avoid walking on the little calling cards. The old school cap became a valued asset even if it was a bit bizarre to be walking along to a step step thunk cadence.
