Well, you can sing along to the Morris Men - broaden your repertoire a bit!
might have known they'll be turning up... the Broadwoods I suppose? They get everywhere (well they were at beer fest on Sunday, they danced at my parents' wedding reception - not that I was there)

Maybe the Broadwoods, although I think another lot will be there to dance.

One of the Broadwood blokes told me at the beer festival that they may just turn up to play some music.

We'll see.........

"Oh Look ! There's the Morris dancers !"

"Right !!! Which one's Morris ???"

Why do I see so many photo's these days of modern Morris dancers with FEMALES dancing ?

Never allowed in the old days. Goes against all pagan rules !!

Believe it or not, we had a group of Morris Men come and give a demonstration in the street in a small village near us in France; the bar is owned by a Welsh couple and they arranged it. There was a full busload of dancers and some wives - some from Belgium - the group was formed in Suffolk but some members moved abroad.
The second half was members of the audience taking part (and breaking a few sticks in the process). A local woman was conscripted to translate the often bawdy explanation before each dance. Even the French loved it!!!

everywhere I go in Sussex, one of them appears, and tries to persuade me to join...

I have managed to live without that pleasure so far...

I was blaming her for the creation of Magog, not to enlist you...
