West v East
Dilemma.......
I was Ba B for my deps however due to lack of girls on the west side we went up to Grecians West! I understand that after us BaB deps started going up the east side as they should!
I am a westie as heart despite BAB being on the east side of avenue, as the spirt of my grecians and the community feel was stronger than on my deps in BaB
So what i want to know is do you agree with my diversion to West is best?

I was west side all the way (got stuck in the same house from start to finish). But never took a gang-like, territorial, turf-war-esque viewpoint of one side being better than the other. 'west is best'... that's just sad, 'east is beast' well that's just amusing. Bit like the whole A-side vs B-side boarding house thing.

Nothing so mundane as junior and senior houses in my day !
My last year (65 - 66) in Barnes B was unusual in that it was virtually a junior house, with only the monitors and a few others as seniors. It meant that for all sports events we had to join up with Maine to be able to field a team.
We got through to the finals of one of the rugby cups and actually one the Relays cup, although with a bit of gamesmanship.
The last relay was a medley, 1½, 3 ½ laps, 1 lap and 2 laps. We only had to finish to get the point and win the cup.
When the race started we discovered that the person to run the one lap was still in Maine. So the 3 ½ laps slowed down to a trot, and we were lapped before the missing runner got there in time to run the 2 laps.
JMC was not pleased but could find no reason to disqualify us.
Back on thread, I rarely ventured down to the West end, apart from going to the indoor firing range, as we had everything we needed up our end. I've probably never been into one of the houses there either.
Our rivalries tended to be with Barnes or Maine A, rather than anyone else.
Until seeing this thread, I had never thought there might be an East West split.

Except for those who didn't quite make it to the senior end of the avenue and only moved as far as Lamb !Mid A 15 wrote:Many of us went through junior then senior houses so experienced both ends of The Avenue as a matter of course!
Difficult to choose in those circumstances!
Yes, it was much more of a junior / senior divide in our time. I guess most of us would consider our "senior house" as being where our loyalty lies. In which case the west would definitely win.
