Hello! Glad that students have time out to visist the cinema. Don't worry Phillipa, this is just an oldie going 'meeow'!.
Glad you enjoyed it. Was it Daniel Craig who made it for you (some other reviewers say he is miscast), or is there some other reason that causes you to think that its the best yet?

I was taken to see it in Truro last night by my 13 yr old Oliver. Didn't understand much of it, I'm afraid, and Oliver had to explain it all to me over supper in the Xen Noodle Bar afterwards.
PS Only the 6th time I have been to the cinema since leaving Housie. Is this a record?

Dear Dinausaur......(i.e. David...)
So does that mean you have missed out on most of the Greats of the 20th Century (let alone the 21st)?.
Or do you wait for them to come out on DVD?
If not maybe you need a bit of education - but I am not going to be the one to say which I think are the top 10 of the last 50 years!

Erm, well, i have to admit it was the actors who did it for me... Craig was brilliant... cold exterior, soft interior- perfect for Bond!!
Sorry if you dont agree with me there tho...
It is actually only the 2nd time i've made it to the cinema tho since coming to uni.... so dont meeow at me too hard!!!

I have seen some films televisually and since the coming of DVDs in the last few years my children have acquired a number, but yes, Kerren, I do need educating.
I love quizzes and Trivial Pursuits etc except that I had to give them up long ago because, unrivalled as I was in most aspects of General Knowledge (Music, history, politics, art, literature) etc, I have NEVER been able to deal with anything touching "Films and Entertainment", while in questions of sport I fared little better relying totally on my knowledge of House Rugby and cricket matches which, while enabling one to differentiate between a Wing-threequarter and Cover Point, is somewhat lacking when it comes to sporting personalities of a later era.
Thus my knowledge of English cricket captains terminates with Peter May and the last rugby international of which I have certain recall is one in which the excellent WPC Davies performed at Twickenham. Since then, alas, I have failed to watch any proper Rugby at all (though I did once attend at the Recreation Ground in Falmouth when the Old Blues were on a Cornish Rugby Tour).

I am quite good at quizzes of all types but I fall down on TV soap operas, I get all my information on them from the front covers of the gossip magazines in the supermarket.
The pic of Daniel Craig emerging from the sea in this shorts is (allegedly)set to become as iconic as Ursula Andress in Dr No. I know which one I am sticking on my wall.
I don't think I have ever seen a Bond movie at the cinema, but I may make an exception for this one.
The lad (20) I work with went on Thursday and said it is 'edge'of the seat' stuff the whole time.
JR don't comment re DC versus Connery until you have seen it.

Its deffinitely a thriller- and well worth watching. There is of course the usual Bond romancing... only in a different style.. I won't spoil it, you'l have to watch it to find out!englishangel wrote: I don't think I have ever seen a Bond movie at the cinema, but I may make an exception for this one.

2 times in the past 5 years, once when I was in Brighton (1961 - 3) is all I recal but I don't have the best of memories.
Reasons - Brighton - trying to get on the right side of a girl
last 2 times - SWMBO insisted and the tickets were a present from my son and then I had to take my grandson to the latest Star Wars.
In each case bad experiences at CH made it hell-on-earth

Well I went to see Casino Royale today and I thought it was great. I don't care what anyone says about Daniel Craig he is perfectly cast and does Bond brilliantly. Although I am still a big Pierce fan his last outing at 007 was woeful (prob not his fault) but I'm pleased to say there is virtually no CGI in Casino Royale, or at least if there is it's so good you don't realise it. It's also got some good humour in it but without being camp or silly. Thumbs up from me...
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We’ll see about that.

Whey-hey! Someone agrees that DC made the perfect Bond..! I actually have the theme tune downloaded and it is being played quite often at the moment- i guess i may be over doing things but its such a good song! It goes perfectly with the film..marty wrote: Thumbs up from me...
