Santa Trains

Post by Katharine »

Today was the first day we ran Santa trains this year. This weekend they start in Blaenau Ffestiniog, next in Porthmadog. I was at work in Porthmadog. Before the first train had left we had had the following:

1) The family that had booked the whole of the Observation Carriage turned up at Porthmadog, wanting to know where the train was. She admitted she had not read her tickets. We arranged to hold the train for half an hour for them, but ...... they had not reached Blaenau two hours later, (normally 20 minute drive at the most).

2) Another lost family rang to say they did not know where they were but 'they could see trees' and expected us to direct them from there.

3) A family reached the Elves at Llechwedd Slate Caverns only to be told their tickets were for Ffestiniog Railway - another part of Lapland! They did manage to ride on our railway, Snow White helped them find their way.

We have another 6 days of Santa, what else will happen?
