How many have you got, Mrs. C?!
At £2.99 each plus postage you might even be able to retire!
And yes, the buttons DO belong to the school. In the good old bad old days of Hertford, there used to be a 'silver button hunt' within minutes of the coaches leaving, whenever boys from Horsham came to Hertford (it is recounted in Miss West's autobiography but I also remember it...). And the plunder was duly returned by post to Horsham a day or two later....

I have about 15 buttons (its surprising how many different 'models' there are.....) ...having bought about 10 of them on eBay and having been given more by the parent of a former pupil. I am told she has many of them in her sewing box! Gulp, here I am admitting publicly that I have knowingly purchased stolen goods...

Only got one puzzle - but I should have got more I think, judging by the interest at present!

Good Luck Kerren. What a lovely little thing - and Hertford too. You have far more right to it than he has!!!

School buttons are apparently the property of the school and therefore are selling as stolen goods on ebay.
That intrigues me Janet. I'm sure I have some of varying size up in the attic which Matron told me to keep as souvenirs when I went to hand them in after leaving. This reminds me - I must find my silver buckle as well so I can read the hall-mark !

Everyone I have ever talked to who is retired wonders however they found time to work.

Thank you Mary !

I've nearly completed all my typing for Kerren and Viv, so that'll put me into the Hertford Book of Fame.

Tuesday, Dorking F.C. welcome Crystal Palace to Meadowbank, Dorking for a benefit match for our club skipper who has terminal cancer at the age of 28.

I have to get a certain young man to the vets first thing in the morning for under-carriage removal, do some shopping. Arrange for the collection of a certain young man, minus under-carriage from the vets, AND I will be at Meadowbank ground from around midday to midnight.

You just wait JR- it gradually becomes " even more to do, and even less time". Feeling very low today, a dear friend who I met nearly 20 years ago, when she came to work in the Hospice shop died yesterday- in the hospice. It certainly stirred me up to get cracking on jobs that I had been putting off.

Oh dear Midget. I am sorry about your day....it must be a sobering experience - but I guess one which will come to us all in time, and maybe even more than once.
In the meantime, is anyone watching that button on eBay? I can't beleeeeve it!
