Friday the 13th
OK, so I don't expect any triskaidekaphobes to reply today, but given that this is the least auspicious day in the calendar for many, I was wondering whether forumites are superstitious, and what those idiosyncracies might be. I found that someone had put a pair of shoes on the table yesterday and nearly hit the roof. I always throw spilt salt over my shoulder and always salute (or spit, depending on the company) when I see a lone magpie. If pants go on inside out, they have to stay that way. However, I am looking forward to this evening as it is the church choir annual dinner. Will we all come a cropper and end up with food poisoning? Let's hope not. More likely alcohol poisoning and then we won't notice when the ladder we've just walked under comes crashing down around our ears. Cheers!

It's all a load of nonsense. My gran was superstitious and wouldn't pick up a knife if she dropped it. I'd go round to her flat and there could be several items of cutlery on the floor which I'd have to pick up for her. She said it was bad luck but I just put it down to laziness on her part...
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We’ll see about that.

I say 'touch wood' but don't usually do it. Umbrellas indoors, shoes on the table, ladders etc, load of old nonsense. I have put pants on inside out and not changed them but it is usually because I haven't even noticed until it is far too late.
A month or so ago I put my trousers on back to front and didn't realise. they are so baggy I don't have to undo the zip to take them off. (Too much information sorry) I did turn them around when I realised.

Was this today, Munch? I am so sorry for you, it would be a nightmare for me if it happened to me. I don't want to even think about it!!!Angela Woodford wrote:My handbag has been stolen at Paddock Wood Station.

JR is right, what a dodgy station! And what a date to be at that dodgy station! Station staff incredibly helpful, even searching the track for me in case thief had chucked bag.Katharine wrote:Was this today, Munch? Bless you, midget! I feel all warm and fuzzy now. I am, however, a mess of contradictions, like many of us probably. Friendly and confident on the outside and a seething mass of insecurities on the inside. I should have been a Gemini.midget wrote: there I was thinking you come over as one of the sunniest people on the forum!

Vonny, how sorry I am to hear that. V v bad thing to come to terms with,
to state cliched obvious. Certainly puts theft of stupid bag into perspective.
No, not mugged, had subsided onto bench with all stuff, obviously in charge of a handbag without due care and attention. It vanished!!! But thanks, Andy. I will now be vigilant for ever, and not only on Fri 13th
