It's all over...

Post by kerrensimmonds »

Dear all
Just to thank you for your support and guidance! With just a couple of panels still needed for my kitchen, everything is now done.
The £90 cleaners went through the whole house like a whirlwind yesterday and I have 'moved back' into the kitchen. The entire place looks and smells pristine - as well as somehow emptier and tidier. I had forgotten how, in those 2.5 months, I had been systematically throwing things out - it really shows now! Wonder how long it will stay like that?
And, after several arguments, I did eventually get the insurance company to contribute £45 towards the £90 for cleaning - I did not have to have their blokes with thick rubber gloves lifting and cleaning my ornaments!

Sounds like a 2nd housewarming is called for.

Please accept my apologies for absence - I don't like driving on a bellyful of beer.

Enjoy it before you have to start cleaning the whole place again.

Thank you David I will (enjoy it before it gets dirty again!)....
I am actually looking forward to going home from work tonight - in the last 2.5 months I have been staying on at work, putting off the evil moment of walking through my front door into what has felt like a rubbish dump. And from banning visitors (even family), I can't wait to have people to stay again.. so I am looking forward to seeing Katharine next month. I will try and keep it nice until then, anyway.
A housewarming would be a good idea.. but the trouble is one has to clear up afterwards.....and its an awful long drive from the South of France to the South of England... :D

Glad to hear it's all up and running smoothly again, Kerren.
