"Nine he gave to Mortal Men, proud and great, and so ensnared them. Long ago they fell under the dominion of the One, and they became Ringwraiths, shadows under his great Shadow, his most terrible servants."
- Gandalf, The Shadow of the Past
The cloaks are what gives them a visible form - without them they are invisible. Hence why their hoods are empty. Yet they are also more feared when unclad, as they are then an invisible shadow that strikes fear into the strongest of men.

There! Thank you Josh. I thought it was something to do with invisibility.Eruresto wrote:The cloaks are what gives them a visible form - without them they are invisible. I'm definitely more feared when unclad, striking fear into the strongest of men!

Oh well, back to packing!

"Baldrick, you wouldn't recognise a cunning plan if it painted itself purple, and danced naked on top of a harpsichord singing "Cunning plans are here again.""

I've got plenty of experience of that; expect everyone else's mail** and ensure that you go back to pick up your own mail.Angela Woodford wrote:Certainly, Philip! However, just arranging for redirection of post and cessation of utilities, then will tell all... maybe...

Having more money doesn't make you happier. I have 50 million dollars
but I'm just as happy as when I had 48 million.

Just a suggestion.
Leave a sheet of labels with your new address on in the old house, then Mr BrownFangs only has to slap one on the envelope and doesn't even have to find a pen to write your address out.
Put "Please redirect to:" and ask him to put them to the side of the old address or you will be forever going to the sorting office to pay excess postage.

"If a man speaks, and there isn't a woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"
I have no idea where this thread is at now - I skipped the 75 pages of posts, and just thought that since this is where Gemma first introduced herself, I'd tell all of you that will care, that my younger sister has jsut ben invited for interview, as a prospective New Dep in 2008, just as I was in 2006.
I really really want her to get in! CH has given me so much - some of my closest friends, and my most treasured memories have come from within it's hallowed halls!

Im also glad that your summing up of what CH has given you is the same as mine-my closest friends are those from CH (5 years on) and I think because the situation you live in with them it makes that friendsip stronger.
Anyway good luck to you sister
