Yeah, I'm not into sport much.

Any interest in dice-rolling activities, Idgie?

oo-er! i must say dice rolling is one of my many hidden tallents :P

my favorite childhood boardgame was cludo - lots of dice rolling there! and subsequesntly i became quite the master or the roll!
favorite game josh?
what others tend to get played?

and thanks J.R for the link... i don't think Hurst looks half as impressive as CH!
actually, i went to East Grinsted the other day and drove past Ardingly College; no way as splendid as the first sighting i had of CH!*beams with pride*

Fair enough, thought I had been thinking more along the lines of games where the scene holding forty dice in your hands is not uncommon, and is accompanied by gleeful cries of "threes to hit"...

Still, Cluedo's a fair game. Except I never worked out how to play it without starting an argument in the process.

You'll have to improve my rolling skills. A bit of backspin, accompanied with the lucky dice (Big Gun Dice seem to be incapable of rolling ones, and that's not just because they have a CogSkull instead of of a 1) seems to be a good foundation, along with "calling" the dice. Last summer I got very good at that - could go entire skirmishes without getting the number wrong. Usually ended up in some very one-sided games lol.

We certainly do play Hurstpierpoint, although not at cricket I don't think... have to ask the master i/c of that to find out why not I guess...

Thinking of other schools in the area, the only one with any sort of immediate 'wow' factor as you approach it has to be Lancing College, with its enormous chapel that dominates that part of the Downs...

In house, probably at the back by the courtyard doors, will be bags hanging on pegs with signs like "civvies", "bands", "shirts" etc. All uniform, when it issued, is given your number (e.g. Pe A 20) so they know where it goes. All your own things should be similarly named, e.g. "J. R. Bell Pe A 20". They're quite specific about how to do it...that said I have received other peoples' things once - Nick Durkan!!!!

This should set your mind at rest, I am sure something along these lines will be sent to whoever is responsible for kitting you out.

although in the girls houses they have their own washers dryers which seniors could use. I only ever put shirts and bands in school laundry (the boil everything at 60c). and def in grecians house you have a wash room-just pick your moment and make sure you remember to collect your stuff otherwise it may go walkies!

even though my parents lived on site i still did my own wshing in hous-part of the whole i have come to boarding school to learn how to look aftermyself determination i had

Doing It For Himself

Post by Angela Woodford »

My current husband insists on doing all his own washing - separately. His is the most immaculate wardrobe you can imagine. In particular, his white teeshirts have to be snowy, snowy white! He is an earnest reader of the care labels in every garment. The Army taught him to iron to a very high standard! If I ever need trousers pressed, I beg him to do them for me.

Testosterone! Indeed, very sneaky!
