Hillary... surname? Can you reveal it? You are two years younger than I and I'm sure you will be familiar. My contemporaries in 8's were Susan Lintott, Clare Tattersall and Joy Woodward. You might remember me in 6's - the fat one.

I'm beginning to feel a bit of trepidation at seeing the New Hertford - coming with bag loaded with tissues - but so excited to see friends -

Clare Tattersall has risen to great CH heights... For many years she has been on the BSB Board, and looks after admissions on BSB/CHCOGA presentations. I am advised that she has now joined the Council of Almoners (to replace Carol Stevens, nee Rayson), and as such is also now the Council of Almoners' representative on the Advisory Board of the Christ's Hospital Association.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
I was at Hertford from 56-63, in1's(Miss Robertson) as a Junior ward and 8's (Mrs Coveney and Miss Haughton). My sister Heather was 8's about 67-73 and Charlotte in 1's about 72-79.
We were rather unusual in that we had 4 brothers, Ian, Graham, Robin and Martin, at Horsham between 1953 and 1969.(Maine A and then Coleridge B - or was it A?). After 26 years of visiting my parents were well known at both schools, but wouldn't it have been easier on one site!
So several people should remember at least one of us! I had mousy hair and glasses, Heather is dark and Charlotte is blonde...We were all Mons and fairly sporty and Heather was Head-girl for part of the year.
I've really enjoyed reading and chuckling over the forum, hopefully now I've mastered the technology I'll be able to join in.

My surname is Taylor - I was in 8s with HeatherP.

I went round the school a few years ago, which was an odd event, so I'm not sure what to expect this time round.

I'm still not quite prepared to start the new thread, title 'Gathering at ..........', but it's not far away. It can't be, as two weeks from now I shall be wandering around Changi psyching myself into coping with being confined to a baked bean can with wings for 14 hours

Kerren has, as so kindly promised, paid a deposit at Café Rouge for all those of us who signed up for dinner before the deadline. I will visit the restaurant on either the Friday evening or Saturday afternoon to sort out seats for latecomers, but, be warned people that, seating is not unlimited and my persuasive powers have their limits, so I will not be able to arrange seats for hoardes of people who are holding out incase they get a better offer of something to do on that night :)

Kerren and I will supply name tags for those who wish to make life easier for people like me who have a poor memory for faces, and hate to insult their friends. Large writing, please Ladies, so that those of us with distance challenged eyes don't have to disappear into your mammary glands in our effort to 'recognise' you.

I am also considering making up little pin on thingys of blue and gold ribbon which I thought we could wear while wandering around town during the day. Of course, if anyone could knock up some chapel caps, these would make us far easier to spot.

Think that's all for now, other than to send another huge thank you to Kerren who is still busily trying to gain access to at least one of the houses for us.

40 degrees today, and forecast again for tomorrow. What's the weather like in England at present?

Had a little IM chat with Jude just now and she was in Hertford yesterday. She said that she went to the loo in 5's (her old house) so they are obviously quite welcoming during the week, don't know about on a saturday though.

I still have my CHOGA badge and I might wear my husband's panama hat and put a yellow and blue ribbon round it. On second thoughts perhaps not.

CHOGA badge will be in place PLUS I now have enough in my (free-range, organic) piggy bank to send off for my gennoowine CH scarf. Brilliant!

You're expecting it to be cold enough to wear a scarf? Aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I thought that global warming had reached southern England?

I'm going to have to completely rethink my packing. Should I reclaim my full length sheepskin coat from my daughter?

Hard to contemplate being cold. I'm not sure who is struggling more today; my air con or myself.

It is still cold here, but I'd suggest a light waterproof over a jumper or fleece, rather than something heavy. I doubt you'll need a hat or scarf in April.

I have a knitted housey scarf (navy blue with yellow stripes at each end), that I'll wear if its not too hot. I also have a CHOGA badge. I love the idea of us all wandering round in chapel caps, but that's way beyond my sewing skills.

I'm getting really excited about the reunion now.

Not many weeks to go!
It's alright for Caroline in Oz now in a heatwave, whilst we here in the jolly old UK are apparently facing storms which might equal the hurricans of 1987. Wonderful.
Re 5 April I echo the advice that several light layers (and a waterproof, just in case...) would be better than big heavy jumpers. Now.. what am I going to wear....?
Is it smart, or casual?
And is a CHOGA badge mandatory?
Decisions, decisions!

Oh, but Caroline - *assumes voice of ancient wise crone* "Cast ne'er a clout till May be out". OK, forget the wise bit.

Thank you so much for doing all this organisation. Brilliant. I should be so excited if Kerren could persuade the occupants of a House to gain admission for us! I might go into autopilot and head down into the cellar for shoe-cleaning....

I've been switching on Crufts for a glimpse of Liz and her Bearded Collies - not so far!

Sorry to butt in, but given your deliberations on the weather, I thought this might be of interest.

Very non pc

Given the very bad weather expected over the UK this weekend, I thought it appropriate to trundle out this one:

British weather is in fact muslim; it is either either sunni or shiite.

Not sure what the Archbishop has to do with it, but there you go.

On a more serious matter, despite the late delivery of the February Old Blue, it is in fact printed, so could I ask for lots of photos on your visit, with appropriate captions, for the next Old Blue? If anyone feels inspired to scribble some printable thoughts, they will be gratefully received.

Tried to persuade my sister Josephine to get involved, but she is overwhelmed with 2 grandchildren

Have a good day.

No comment on the first paragraph

I will put my hand up to scribe one version of the weekend's events - and my beloved Olympus will be put to good use. I had thought about constructing a photobook from photos old and new, but having struggled with the inflexible software while trying to put a wedding book together for Mum, I've gone off that idea. I will, however, and perhaps others would be willing to do the same, make photographs available via fotothing.

All donations of clout gratefully received. I threw all of mine away when I moved to the Great Southern Land.

Thank you so much for doing all this organisation.

I really do want to stress that all I have done is send out a few, well, quite a few, emails - it is Kerren that deserves the majority of our thanks.
