That mannerism got on my nerves and even Mrs Mid A commented on it!
I used to enjoy playing on grass...well, sort of, because at Hertford, the Field was marked off into six grass courts, and it was completely time-wasting to hit hard because the balls would just disappear in the direction of the Infirmary/Pav/Chapel and your game would be on hold while you ran off to look for them.
No, the two hard courts were surrounded by mesh and the only way to get a good game. Shame. Although accidentally vertical hitters had to go and hunt in the Shrubbery.
Cue Nellie with that immortal squawk "If there aren't any balls in the Pavilion it's because they've all - been - lost!"
"Baldrick, you wouldn't recognise a cunning plan if it painted itself purple, and danced naked on top of a harpsichord singing "Cunning plans are here again.""
what a wonderful final-although i would have Federer win his style of playing is far more attractive than big hitting nadal! and sorry ladies i do not see the attraction of Nadal at all!
As for the 14year old girl-FANTASTIC lets hope we nurture her well
