Re: Becomming a New Dep
I think that's BCWG's point. We do have a whole hymnbook of TUNES, however. So it's not too bad.
I should like to point out in a slight panic that I am a GRECIAN. AAAAGH. Beginning the final countdown. On the other hand, it seems that I have now come into my own. LS is due to be finished by January, Corax (used to be called Phoebus) is working fine, Taizé was beautiful and UCAS is giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside! Not sure it's meant to, though.

Would that I knew! I've not seen it yet and only heard about it this evening...nastymum wrote:Who is doing the Lousey thing? You could give us a cryptic clue...
I'm looking to do Theology/Divinity at a variety of locations, mostly in the south (to save on costs of travel). It's all very exciting as the courses look lovely!midget wrote:Good luck, Josh during the "final countdown" What are you aiming for with UCAS?

Of course! In a year I'll actually be Joshua Bell OB (it's SO going on email signatures etc.!), so there's no way you're getting rid of me!kerrensimmonds wrote:Gosh, Josh, you are nearly there! It may be worth investigating living costs too, particularly rents, as they vary a lot according to area.Eruresto wrote:I'm looking to do Theology/Divinity at a variety of locations, mostly in the south (to save on costs of travel). It's all very exciting as the courses look lovely!

Hey Josh,
once you get your hands on Lousey tell us what it says, I'm quite curious as to what it says!
Thanks

Re: Becomming a New Dep
Can I do a post, about becoming an "Old Dep"
I have been browsing, and I note that "Urgh -- my pancreas " is probably a Diabetetic --- This is now Politically Incorrect -- we are all now Persons with Diabetes. ( !!!).
If this is confirmed, I should like to tell you the ADVANTAGES of Diabetes. ------ Why Me ?
I have been "At it" for 0ver 52 years, Member of the UK Advisory Committee, etc. etc.
I got it through my 33rd (Disastrous 1) Fight as an amateur Boxer --- ( Due to LM Carey Housemaster Ba B 1940s).in 1956, and served a further 3 Years as an Army Officer on Insulin. Imagine the "Care " available then !
Now : 1. Nobody knows you've got it, until you tell 'em
2. Its an interesting disease, -- Diabolicals talk to each other and compare Hypos !
3 If you are going to have an incurable (At the moment ) disease -- pick this one -- its under YOUR control, take a moment to considerthe others !
4. It don't bring you out in spots ! !
My Wife is also a PWD on Insulin -- Togetherness is getting our "Fix"
Finally (You will be pleased to know !) The day after my 80th Birthday I did a 13, 000 ft Sky-dive for Diabetes Research -- Which will do me no good-- but might help you.
Be "bl**dy Minded " it ain't all Doom and Gloom !

Neill, you have cheered me up no end! I've been having a good moan all day about arthritis. I am now stuffed to the gills with paracetamol, while waiting for my weekly dose of methtrexate to kick in and your positive attitude is great to read. I agree that bl00dy-mindedness helps.

Re: Becomming a New Dep
Welcome to Old Blue-dom. There is something 'different' about Old Blues facing up to adversity and just getting on with it. I have had more than my fair share of professional and health problems (I'm now disabled with arthritis, for a start, but still trying to work) but I have a sibling who currently is still unable to cope with the outfall from domestic breakup 5 years ago, now facing a court case created by his ex-wife's lover, and (now) redundancy - but in mitigation I believe that he does draw a huge pension from having been discharged from HM Forces on an Officer's redundancy package, 10 or so years ago. 'Mr Miserable' (as my other sibling describes him) is totally sunk in self pity, the victim of all that happens to him. If I had allowed myself one ounce of self pity over the last 20 years I would be long dead. The difference is that I went to CH and he didn't....
