Oh God, huge sympathy to you!! If it's any recompense, HWMBI is racing (sailing) to and from Poole this weekend, but last night my favourite nephew trolled up hoping for some assistance swotting up before he goes back to college after a gap year! So meal is out tonight (as I still don't want to wash up!) and neffer's doing HWMBI's job of building my new wardrobes while I supervise chat and eat chocolate - is OK but not quite the same I promise!!I was going to have a day like Gerrie's today, Husband and daughter going to the races up North (early start, late home) No 1 son going to work and No 2 son at his mates since last night.
Racing cancelled for a waterlogged course, No 1 son has a bad toothache, still in bed, No 2 son brought two mates home, and all three are snoring on the living room sofas.
I see you're well trained Amy !!!blondie95 wrote:Im sitting here at home all alone.....the h2b is in town at the pub watching the england match. Me the dutiful fiance picked up his mate drove them into town and will be going to collect them around pub kicking out time! The little spending spree I had in town today (which i said i would pay for on pay day) will be 'written off' tomorrow curtesy of the taxi services this evening!
Mmm, Amy; "things bought for me"blondie95 wrote:thats what he may like to think however i just know how to make it win for me...being very nice like that means i get things bought for me as thanks-simple really

Oh, I can't begin to tell you how many brownie points I have now..... No phone call from the station, just sounds of an intruder downstairs around 11pm on Friday night, nearly terrified me but I grabbed a torch and plucked up my courage to try the garage door.......which was unlocked......and found him stretched out on the floor alongside his car, dead to the world. It took me about 15 minutes to get him to wake up, stand up, and get him in to the house.Jo wrote:Yup.... mine it still out at the pub having a "drink after work". At 10.30pmAnd then he will want a lift home from the station around midnight. Loads of lovely brownie points in the brownie point bank for me, methinks

The really annoying thing is that he woke up the next morning with no hangover - there is no justice. His explanation for going to sleep in the garage was that when he worked at Capital Radio years ago, Chris Tarrant apparently used to do it when Ingrid locked him out of the house if he came home drunk. The difference was that CT no doubt slept in one of his luxury cars rather than on the floor, but I can see how it all makes sense in the mind of a drunk![]()

Then I went to his school reunion with him and spent the weekend driving him round. My brownie point account has never been so full![]()

Great post Gerrie.gma wrote:Thanks Jo, rolled up over that day of yours!! It sounds like you earned a spa weekend to me!! Went to Forest Mere last autumn for a friend's 40th birthday and it was a blast.
Now I'm happy with a bit of healthiness, some swimming and the occasional facial and massage but I found the thought of the whole weekend wandering around in a hairband and a white robe a bit disconcerting so took black kimono, a feather scrunchie and a big picnic chiller full of champagne, vodka, chocolate and cassis alongwith oj and alka seltzer - group of earnest horrified women, mostly strangers to me, threw their hands up in shock but by 4 p.m. on day one had managed to assist me very ably in clearing most of the champagne and a goodly portion of the chocolate; they came on board fully in the restaurant when we demanded butter for our bread, cream for the dessert and had delighted waiters and chefs running around all night upping the calorie intake whilst the whip thin maitress d'h fainted quietly in the corner! Staff thought we were a hen party (whom we later discovered to be the quiet little group shepherded around by ma and ma-in-law). The chef made us a birthday cake which was still warm when we carried it off with a bowl of raspberries and a pitcher of cream (with the compliments of the waiting and kitchen staff who thanked us for the fun!) to our rooms and consumed all with vigour whilst watching Ladies in Lavender at 2 o'clock in the morning!
We weren't any thinner when we left but clearly all enjoyed it so much that everyone wants to do it again! What's more I'm not the only one and certain large and lavish London hotels are advertising 'pyjama party' weekends when you get the giant Saudi Prince size beds, pile in, wear your pjs, watch chick flicks, eat chocolate, desserts, ice cream and champagne on room service with a morning massage before breakfast is delivered. Apart from the champagne and delivered breakfast sounds like first night back dorm feasts to me!!
Yeah ok then, but you have to bring your own cooler!!!Can I come?
