Thanks for your good wishes. I came down yesterday morning to find mysterious wet patches on the kiitchen floor. I then cleared off for my charity shop day (we took £450!) hoping Joe would have solved the problem. No such luck! We still don't know what is going on, as it doesn't seem to be a leak from the washing machine, and we haven't a clue what sort of pipes are under that bit of the floor, which seems to be solid concrete. Insurance co. will send someone on Monday, so we hope we don't get washed away before then.
