:D  :D  :D  :D  :D  - not actually met my mum have you, Neill?

Thanks everyone... Auntie Piglet here... very proud of my little sister :D

Looking forward to see little "Bob" on the webcam tomorrow. Bob is so-called due to her bobbing around during the first scan and until a name is announced, that is what I shall continue to call her.

Christmas is going to be fun fun fun. The plan is to all be together in UK for Christmas & New Year, hopefully at Mum & Dad's newly DIY'd place or possibly at Kirri & Steve's new place in Kent. They are due to move in September.

So we will have Hanna (4 years), Xander (8 months) & "Bob" (4 months) to amuse....

At least only 1 will be mobile. When #1 son was 15 months old we went to Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas and said we would only go back when he could behave himself.... 22 years later...... Only joking.

Many congratulations to all concerned.

'Only one will be mobile'? I cannot remember, what sort of age do babies start crawling? I remember Hanna starting to crawl, but not what age she was; she used to go a short distance and then find a crumb or a bit of fluff on the carpet and stop for ages to thoroughly investigate it. What Maria has not mentioned is the fact that Grandma is in the habit of switching off and going into hibernation from about the beginning of November, which might just have a complicating effect on the whole procedure. I can hear my own mother's voice saying 'Whose bright idea was this anyway?'. No - it will be great. Grandad has already started growing his Father Christmas beard - or perhaps he just lost his razor while he was in Finland?

Xander may just be mobile I suppose, rolling and such but 8 months is a little early to start crawling. Christopher (# 2) son, didn't move AT ALL until he was nearly 18 Months old then I went out for ONE DAY and got back to find him walking as though he had been doing it for months.

Oh Neill - I think you are in for some sad disillusionment!

I have just met new baby via webcam and Skype - she looks just as Xander did four months ago - aaaah!

My youngest daughter was walking at 8 1/2 months! We married when she was 11 months ( ) and by then she was running across the dancefloor! My eldest was walking a week later than that, at 8 3/4 months! They are both very sporty, maybe that was an early sign of their fitness levels? :D

Blimey. #1 son was walking at 10 months and my daughter (twin to #2) son was walking at just over a year (though they were a month early). #2 son didn't do anything until he could do it properly, from walking to coming out of nappies, to reading.

My nephew is just 1 and is just teetering on a few steps before he decides that hands and knees are faster!

I was just 1 when walked, my brother and sister who are twins, brother was 9mths and sister not till 1 (as brother was mobile i think she figured he could get her what she wanted) :)

Yes, I reckon on a year - give or take a month either way - for walking (Maria was ten and a half months), but it was the crawling I couldn't remember. I know that a lot of babies learn to go backwards before they go forwards. and I remember Hanna and a friend a day younger than her standing at the foot of the stairs and gazing longingly upwards at the first birthday party. Anyway hopefully I won't need to instal stairgates by Christmas! In answer to your question Amy - Hoo on the Medway.

My elder son -- Rupert -- walked (Staggered) at 10 months, but hit his head on a table corner, and went back on the floor until 12 months.
Younger son --- Marcus --- complains that whereas we were careful of Rupert -- he had to find his own "Dangers"
He also complains that Rupert had a brand-new Silver Cross Perambulator, but he had a rather tatty second-hand one !

Even at the ages of 56 and 51, they are still complaining about their childhood ! :(
