New Official CH Parents Forum
I have just seen that CH has a new site and have found this page:-
http://www.christs-hospital.org.uk/scho ... -forum.php
Nothing there yet, but looks promising if they also publicise it to all parents.

Interesting stuff on the website.
From the Financial Contributions bit:
During the course of your child's education at Christ's Hospital, the Foundation reserves the right to make home visits without prior appointment.
Can they really just barge in uninvited?

NOPE.
The only people who can are Inland Revenue/V.A.T. men, or Plod IF they have reasonable grounds to believe that a crime has been committed or are in possession of a warrant issued by a Magistrate.

Thought it was something like that.
Seems a bit silly putting it on the website, then.

No idea, but one thing I can confirm from experience is that where a parent actually wants to speak to a representative of the Foundation about their financial contributions, you appear to have no right to this whatsoever!! We've made several requests for a meeting, and have been pointedly ignored. From the Financial Contributions bit:
During the course of your child's education at Christ's Hospital, the Foundation reserves the right to make home visits without prior appointment.

Re: New Official CH Parents Forum
Thinking about this a bit more (I need to get a life!) I guess the Foundation probably do have a legal right to "barge in univited" on the grounds that parents are required to accept this possibility as part of the terms and conditions they agree to when they send their child to CH. I'm still frustrated that the arrangement is so one-sided though!

I wonder what would happen if you turned up unannounced at the Counting House?

Well, considering the time (weeks!) that the Counting House take to respond to enquiries by letter, and that even then they seem unwilling or unable to provide specific financial information which parents might reasonably expect to be entitled to, my personal guess would be that you'd be wasting your time.I wonder what would happen if you turned up unannounced at the Counting House?

Re: New Official CH Parents Forum
I wonder that people are so gullible and set to hate everything European based on flimsy, often fabricated, evidence. If you think aout it properly, why would England be a region? In fact Wales is a region (Scotland isn't), and we might argue that other important bits of the UK, such as Yorkshire, might be regions, but why "England"? Take a deep breath, take a step back and look at it afresh and you will see that it makes no sense.
Anyway, the thread was about the new CH web site and forum ..... so back to that. There are already 675 pages on another thread about how the Counting House ignore certain parents, and there are many other sites for people who hate foreigners.

I haven't had time to look at the new CH website in much detail yet, but I have received a PM from another poster on here who tells me that the updated Admissions information indicates a drive to attract more full fee payers by offering non-competitive entry and the opportunity to enter in Year 9 (LE).
