6 Nations (Again !)

Post by NEILL THE NOTORIOUS »

This particular Topic seems to have gone very quiet suddenly !
I am glad that Ireland woke up in the second half, at Half Time I was loking for my Pistol to take the "Gentleman's Way Out"
but fortunately Ronan has re-discovered his Kicking Boots !
If Ireland beat Wales I confess that I shall be totally Unbearable --- I am of the very few, who remember the last Grand Slam in 1948 !! I may have to go over to Ireland --- The Black Stuff does NOT travel ! :drinkers: :drinkers:

Good grief - is this Rugby stuff still going on? Just wait until the Formula One season starts in a few weeks time and the Grogans en masse will start to get their revenge on all you rugby fanatics! Unfortunately I shall be in Finland for the first race of the season, and therefore having to endure the commentary in Finnish which means nothing to me.

It just means you have to actually watch the race closely, instead of listening to the commentary!!

I have managed to find a way to watch the rugby online (can't watch it on bbc website, unfortunately) so maybe we'll get the F1, too... fingers crossed.

The classic football cliche "a game of two halves" certainly was applicable to Scotland v Ireland today.

I'm afraid I am one of those dreadful people, for whom there is no such thing as a Silver Medal !
I play all games to WIN -- I can't see the point of "More Important taking part" attitude, why bother otherwise ?
I know I shall get a lot of Flak for this, but I still hope to be totally Unbearable after the Wales/Ireland Match ! !
If we don't win --- then Wales must have cheated !---- Abuse expected !
BTW -- did you hear the sound of hammers and nails across La Manche ? as they prepared the guillotine at : HalfTime ? :reaper: :mutley:
I believe Brian Moore made the same suggestion !

Neill, I am intrigued to know what games you are still playing (to win or otherwise) as a diabetic octogenarian?

Why couldn't they play like that earlier?

That first half was superb. Some will say the French were bad but England didn't let them play. The back row snuffed out everything the French tried.

For fjgrogan ----As it so happens, Diabetes Uk were trying to arrange for me to go three Rounds with Henry Cooper -------
In 1948 I held one of the Army Championships (RAOC) which he, subsequently held at Light Heavyweight.
I had 33 fights culminating in the Finals of the British Army of the Rhine--- (Remember ? -- no- too young !) so I would know what I was doing, although I did stipulate 0ne minute Rounds -- rather than Three Minutes !!!
It would have been "Exhibition" -- Punching, but not full out.
Regrettably -- and I mean that -- the British Amateur Boxing Association, have put the "Mockers" on it, because they have decided that Diabetics must not Box ! --- Diabetes UK are contesting this, but the idea of my effort is not very good for the Argument ----- as it was the 33rd Fight that caused my Diabetes ----- OOOPs !
For my 80th I did a 13000ft Skydive -- for 81 they want something "Spectaculsr and Dangerous" suggestions ?
Sorry about the CV --- but you did ask !

Neill -I only ask because my husband was diagnosed with type II in the last few years and seems to think that it gives him carte blanche to do nothing - unless it is something he wants to do!!

Ireland to beat Wales in the final match this weekend as predicted in my early posting...

Still I enjoyed the routing of the Frenchies even though Mrs F is French!

Has it been 3 years on the trot that we beat them in the 6 nations?
