"The Handsome Black Cloud"

Hello everybody! I have exciting news of a project I’m working on. I saw the Big Screen Old Blues thread on the other forum and it reminded me :)

This summer, I’m shooting a short no-budget film, called The Handsome Black Cloud, or, A Mid-City Night’s Dream. Based ever so slightly on A Midsummer Night’s Dream (i.e. we have the love triangle and nothing else), the film, whose cast and crew include a fair number of present and former CH pupils, will hopefully run to about an hour. When finished, it’ll be posted online for all to see! We’re also hoping to make DVDs and even borrow a small cinema for an evening for the first showing.

We’ll be shooting in Portsmouth, Havant and Petersfield, as well as a one-day London shoot, on 5 or 6 weekends during July and August. So if you fancy taking a look-in, come along! I’ll gladly send shooting dates and places to anyone who asks. (Oh, and if you like acting, I haven’t confirmed my male lead, or the person playing my vicar, and it’s worrying me!)

Thanks My first shoot is a week today: we're awaiting permission still (grrr!) but hopefully using my local church to shoot various scenes (it's really annoying, but we're putting the schedule around when everyone's home/away, making the whole filming really disjointed). It's my birthday party on the Sunday and my birthday on the Monday, so the whole thing's going to be really hectic!

(Incidentally, if anybody does fancy stepping into the breach for a single day on the 10th, I may not have a vicar - please PM me for more info)

I had imagined them to be a man, but thinking about it, I can't see any reason why they shouldn't be a woman! I've approached someone, but communications are slow and I'm worried they won't be finalised by the shooting...which just happens to be this Saturday. AAAAGH.

On a brighter note, I now have permission to use the church!

Josh - where and at what time is the shoot on Saturday? Will that be the only time you need a 'vicar' or will you need him on other weekends?

I'm free this Saturday and my dad was a vicar so I think I probably have some experience of how to play one...
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We’ll see about that.

It's in Rowlands Castle, Hampshire; filming from around 11.30 (inc. setup time), until around 4ish, including a break for lunch. That would be the only time we'd need the vicar, yes; I've set it all up so we can do things as efficiently as possible. (caveat: I've still not received a concrete "no" from IBH, but neither have I received a concrete "yes". It's all rather tricky!)

As long as there's no nudity I'm more than happy to do it. If you get a definite 'yes' or 'no' from whoever this IBH fellow is in the next 48 hours then let me know as I'll need to book a train ticket down and get permission from the wife.

Thanks Kerren (or should I say 'bless you my child"). I saw the word 'handsome' and immediately thought I'd be perfect for it [just about squeezes huge head out the door]
