I suppose another topic on
"Dualit toasters make better tasting toast"

I bought one last year - definitely makes better toast....with the added benefit of being able close my eyes and imagine I'm in the brew-room again. All I need now is a block of NPO butter, to half-unwrap and mash into the toast.....

Toast tastes best on your second or third form, when you are not allowed to make it but for some unknown reason will pay stupid amounts of pocket money to have a UF monitor make it for you. My god, what were we thinking

If you can eat your full allocation of toast without the last piece being cold then you probably eat too fast..

If one forgets their toast in the toaster and one eventualy finds it, though extremely cold and rock hard.

Butter it anyway and then stick it in the microwave for 23 seconds. any longer and it will go soggy and nasty, any less and it will be really hard. This is what I do with my time. :)

Is that based on an 800Watt microwave?

(Is that an African or European, laden or unladen?)

800W I think. Yes, I'm sure of it. And with the butter already on. I've only tried it with kingsmill but I'm guessing other bread shall work aswell.

Back to toast - is a Dualit worth it? We seem to be singularly unlucky with our toasters. The current one is very inconsistent, and we are thinking of changing. John wants to go very cheap and discard when it starts going wrong - I wonder whether to go upmarket for a Dualit. Any (sensible) advice will be gratefully received.
