Tomorrow (23 August) she earns the right to free prescriptions and (I guess?) a regular income from HM Government. Not to mention winter fuel allowance, free bus pass, etc. etc. etc.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, KATHARINE!!! :partyman:  :D

I have been watching this creep up on us.

Mrs C also reaches the big 50.

Congratulations and felicitations to both.

Why thank you kindly, I had not expected this today!!! Today is our 37th wedding anniversary and we have had a lovely day out in mid-Wales. Beautiful weather, glorious views over the mountains and most of the tourists at the beach not clogging up the roads   We are about to go out to dinner with an old friend. He visits the railway for a fortnight each year to Guard - he guarded the very first Ffestiniog Railway train I ever rode on, and as a retired Maths teacher we have a lot in common.

Tomorrow we are going out to Anglesey and points north as we have to collect the proofs of the next Railway Society Magazine. There are advantages to making the work rosters   I have managed to take two of the busiest days of the year off   I'll pay for it on Friday when I pick up the pieces!!!

Kerren, I am delaying the income from HMG for the moment. Everyone in Wales has had free prescriptions since April, one of the advantages of devolution. Mary the eye test is booked for next week!

Happy birthday Mrs C - it is a very good day to have a birthday!

Katharine.. how do you delay the gift from HMG. I assume it's in your interests to do so? I ask because I shall be in the same position in just a few months' time....
In the meantime, I do not expect an answer tomorrow. You should be Having Fun - and all on top of a Wedding Anniversary today. How exhausting...(!)

My congratulations also (or should I say "Welcome to the club"?), Katharine. I assume you have your free bus pass, you should be entitled to cheap lunches, cheap rides on the Ffestiniog Railway ( ), days off when you want them - and let the rest do the hard work for once, cheap tickets to the local flea-pit and many other attractions and even a cuppa in bed occasionally.
Having more money doesn't make you happier. I have 50 million dollars
but I'm just as happy as when I had 48 million.

Thank you very much everyone !

Have had an excellent start to the day - Kate`s got her GCSE results - 2 As and 9 A*!

I`m just hoping someone else is going to do the mountain of ironing today!
